How the GIA diamond check works
Every GIA-graded diamond has a report number printed on its certificate (and usually laser-inscribed on the girdle). Enter that number — or upload a photo of the certificate — and we pull the diamond's verified grading data: the 4Cs, cut, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, proportions, and the clarity plot. Then we benchmark it against current Rapaport wholesale pricing to estimate what the diamond is actually worth.

GIA Report Check vs. a diamond price check
GIA's own Report Check (on gia.edu) confirms a certificate is authentic and shows its grading data — but it says nothing about what the diamond is worth. This tool starts from the same verified GIA data and adds the piece Report Check leaves out: a market-value estimate and a quality analysis. Use both — GIA to confirm the paper is real, this check to know if the price is fair.

What GIA certificate numbers work?›
Any valid GIA Diamond Grading Report number (typically 8–12 digits). You can find it on your physical GIA certificate or laser-inscribed on the diamond's girdle.
Can I upload a PDF or photo of my certificate?›

How accurate is the price estimate?›
Our estimates are based on current Rapaport wholesale benchmark pricing and an AI model trained on thousands of diamonds inspected in person. They reflect fair market value, not retail markup.
Do you store my certificate or diamond data?›
Certificate images uploaded for analysis are processed by AI and never permanently stored. GIA lookup results are cached to speed up future requests for the same certificate number.
Can I use this instead of a diamond appraisal?›
This tool gives you a fair market value estimate based on Rapaport wholesale pricing — the same benchmark used by professional dealers. It's ideal for verifying a jeweler's appraisal, checking if a diamond is fairly priced before buying, or getting a quick valuation before selling.
